RRCU is the best financial institution around. I am blown away every time I walk into the Columbia Branch by how friendly they are. Matt, Karen and Jon make me feel like a member of their own family. They remember my name, my kids names, and ask about things we talked about several months prior. I have accounts at three other places in town for businesses I run and I never get anywhere near that treatment at those other banks. This is the reason I do my main banking at RRCU. They also have great loan products and their technology is top notch. If you want to be treated like family, go visit the team at the Columbia RRCU Branch.
I bank with a lot of different banks and RRCU is one of the best for sure. The people are nice and they are way more tech advanced then most other credit unions. The only draw back is I do a decent amount of International transactions and they can't really accept checks from there (it takes about 5 weeks). I bank at US Bank for that though. However, I don't really expect a credit union to be big on International. If most of your business is domestic or Regional it's amazing. Matt..Adam..(bank managers) have made every effort to learn and maintain a high level of customer service.
I have been a loyal customer to RRCU for a few years. I have my current auto loan with them, and I have a 100% on-time payment history with them, as I have had on all my loans there. Today I was declined for an auto loan, despite the terms meeting their loan parameters. I have found this to be very disappointing, as it seems their customer service in this area has dropped of late. I will say that their staff was and has always been polite and respectful. But I can no longer voice my support for them at this point. They have changed, and not for the better. I wish them better days ahead
I had been with the credit union almost three years. I chatted in-app about changing my checking account to the new checking advertised, and never received any follow-up despite promises made for the same. The week after next I followed up by phone and was told my call wasn't appreciated and those like me weren't served as part of normal business there before hanging up, after multiple attempts to get even that out of them. I decided not to pursue the account change further, but noticed the next week my ability to get funds in and out had been restricted. I thought it was a glitch, but after two weeks I was told to contact a Specialist (who responded generically and never specifically to anything I said twice) before getting the Director to terminate my membership and accounts with a week's notice (slightly less since the contact was made after close of business). I was provided a bad number for follow-up that has never worked for even leaving a message and no recourse regarding this experience within the organization as it appears they have no one auditing them or checking them for compliance internally or externally to contact and decisions are made unilaterally. I have no idea how they think this could possibly be acceptable behavior for any business lest one providing an essential function like a checking account. I'm convinced there must just be a few bad apples involved as I'd never otherwise had a problem before.
I attempted to get a loan through the credit union and was told by the loan consultant that if I got them a loan estimate that they would match the rate. I got them a loan estimate from my bank and when the loan consultant got my final loan estimate paperwork from the bank with the lower interest rate she stated to me that she could not match it and stated to give me a run around. After asking to speak with her supervisor she refused to give me his number, but I was able to get it through calling the main company he started to treat me like I was a liar even tho my credit rating is around 770+ and my wife's is around 790+. He stated that the loan consultant didn't tell me she would match the interest rate and that he could listen to the phone conversation we had. I advised to listen to the conservation and after listening to it he got back on the line with me and started he could see where I thought that she was going to match it because she said she would. This is a very unprofessional business and are obviously liars. The only reason I gave them a 1 star is because I can't give them anything lower.
