Rockland FCU's response to removing negative credit mark for late payment. "Rockland Federal Credit Union has received your request for us to delete information in your credit report relating to the loan described above. Because the information you have asked us to delete is accurate, it would not be appropriate for us to delete that information. Financial Institutions and many other businesses rely on credit reports to make fair decisions, so it is important that we do not delete accurate information." -Michaela Billings.
Used Rockland for a car loan and haven't missed a single payment since being a member for nearly 3 years on top of having an 800+ credit score. I ended up in the hospital for multiple weeks and missed a payment. When I called after getting out of the hospital to explain my situation (as well as making sure I was up to date on all payments) the manager said there was nothing they could do to help and it was going to hit my credit report as a late payment. They had mailed me 1 singular letter to notify/contact me of the late payment. Hanscom Federal Credit Union would never do this. DO NOT USE Rockland, I learned my lesson about going with the lowest rate and will end all future business with them and continue to educate anyone I know using Rockland currently about the customer service and my experience.
