This credit union is amazing. Great customer service, free ATM fees. Most importantly for me, I am able to access help through online chat or by phone with a real person almost anytime during the day. I have been able to resolve so many issues and get so many questions answered in situations where other banks or credit unions would be closed or unavailable to help me clarify my concerns. Great credit union overall, I highly recommend it.
I love this credit union. They rebate ATM fees to pull your money out of your account, no matter where. If you need a notary or signature guarantee, it's included for members. There's a coin counting machine in the lobby, so when you find that jar of change, bring it to the branch, count it up, and just hand the slip to a teller to put it in your account. CU reps are available ridiculous hours (until 9 or 10 pm) to answer questions in live chat.
The only reason why this isn't my primary bank is that they have private (American Share Insurance) instead of the full faith and credit of the US government (NCUA). While the CU seems well managed and has good tools and is growing nicely, I dislike even the remote possibility that a failure could be catastrophic to me if I used the credit union as my main financial institution. I asked the president the question -- it's encouraged on the web site! -- and he said that members get better coverage amounts by going only with private insurance. For this reason, I took off one star on the overall rating. I like the credit union so much, but I can't make them my primary bank until the risk of a failure is "off the table."
