I was referred to my current credit union from a friend of mine when I started a full time job and needed to set up a checking account and direct deposit. I was not expecting to much going in just based on previous customer service experiences but I have to say that their tellers were very friendly and extremely helpful. The really did go above and beyond to answer all of my questions and they made sure I had my checking/savings account properly set up as well as all of the needed documents for my direct deposit. The tellers talked with me about my goals for the future and any financial services that could be helpful to me. I was provided all the necessary tools for online banking which was easy to set up and navigate. I have been with them for over 6 years now and still love the friendly service I receive every time I stop in to the local branch. I always refer my friends and family to this credit union whenever I get the chance.
I have been a member of Summit Credit Union for over fifteen years. I have used a variety of products that Summit has to offer including checking, debit card, mortgage, certificates of deposit, personal loan and their notary public services. I have always found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. They are responsive to my questions. In addition, I feel valued as a customer. On an occasion where I was overdrawn due to a calculation error, the bank covered my overdraft and did not charge me an overdraft fee because I had been a customer for so long and had always managed my checking account well. They were understanding about my human error. Summit's fees are minimal, and there is no ATM fee when using any credit union ATM which I greatly appreciate.
I have been a member of Summit Credit Union for over five years now. Every time I go there, I have been treated with respect. Even when applying for a mortgage, they made me feel welcome, and never intimidated. Every person who works there - in the front, or the back offices, has always been helpful and extremely professional. I would not go back to a bank unless I absolutely had to. At Summit, you always get the sense that they are looking out for their members.
We have been a member of Summit Credit Union in Sun Prairie, WI for several years now and they have never failed to bend over backward to meet our every need. We used to belong to another bank when we first moved here and were so disappointed in their service that we actively sought out a different financial institution. SCU is always willing to sit down with you and go over anything you want to look at. When my mother moved up here, we suggested SCU to her and she has had great success with them. She sometimes gets confused and doesn't understand things. They will call her to discuss transactions or she will go there and they will sit down and go over her accounts with her. That is SO awesome. When we started our own business, they were wonderful about helping us figure out a plan of "attack" and helping us to figure out how to get the money we needed. I can't say enough good things about them.
I feel like a real person at Summit and not based by the amount in my account. I like the fee free ATM and I love the Pay if Forward idea. The Credit Union is involved in the community and I appreciate that. I can't see myself changing to another financial institution and for the first time I actually enjoy going to a financial institution.
This organization should be investigated by the FDIC. Absolutely horrible business practices and incompetence. Asking branch offices to mandate health masking requirements outside of Dane County where no laws exist. Failure to close and send money from an account that was closed, holding money hostage and acting like it was an honest mistake for weeks. Customer service reps who want to blame other institutions for their own incompetence, e.g. - it's the post office's fault. What? That is so low and pathetic. I've contacted several organizations to look into this organization due to their business practices. If you are a customer, I would avoid conducting business here at all costs. Total nightmare.
I’ve learned the hard way that, this credit union has the worst customer service I’ve experienced. After losing my job due to Covid I have over drafted several times. I own that, it is my fault. However, I feel as though it is blatantly clear the less money you have, the less you are treated like a human being. Things are exceptionally hard for many families right now, yet the representatives I’ve talked to have been very rude, cold, and demeaning. I asked a manager to call me and now I know why. They are even worse! As a credit union they should be fully embarrassed of how they have “supported“ their less financially secure members during this time.
I've been with Summit for over 10 years. I've watched Summit go from awesome to crap in the last couple years. The fraud protection is non-existent. The notifications I get about hacked accounts (all the time) have buttons to press to verify the transactions. Never have they worked- and worse- when you call them- they won't stop the hacked transactions because they can't verify me. Their system keeps glitching my info and they're to dumb to figure out how to fix it. They just don't care about fraud.
