Sunmark Credit Union is headquartered in Latham and is the 21st largest credit union in the state of New York. It is also the 401st largest credit union in the nation. Field of Membership Restrictions
Membership in Sunmark Credit Union is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, goes to school, volunteers, or owns a business in the New York counties of Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, or Westchester. Also open to employees of one of more than 250 Community Business Partners. Immediate family members of a current Sunmark Credit Union are also eligible to join.

Sunmark is a fee-happy credit union that takes every opportunity to charge its customers fees and provides impolite customer service. Be aware that even if an account is a penny short, you will be charged an overdraft fee, even if your other account has adequate funds to cover the penny. Unlike other banks and credit unions, including commercial banks that would not charge their customers for a penny, this credit union does so willingly. This credit union holds incoming ACH payroll deposits for 2 days as float and to encourage overdraft charges. My colleagues get their deposits 2 days earlier than I do from a credit union competitor., Beware
