Susquehanna Community Bank is headquartered in WEST MILTON and is the 71st largest bank in the state of Pennsylvania. It is also the 1,598th largest bank in the nation. It was established in 1920 and as of March of 2023, it had grown to 92 employees at 7 locations. Susquehanna Community Bank's money market rates are 10X the national average, and it has an A health rating.
It is very worth while to figure out the ins and outs of opening this account assuming you need to park $100000 or more for a month or two or more. No other savings account pays this much. Also CDs have big penalties if you need to get at the money. Think of this as a no penalty CD with add-on privileges. Every two months or so I will get a second account ( it takes only a few minutes) and if I do not have another $100000 to play with I will close out the first account. That way the 6 months rate guarantee is extended for another 6 months. I am not sure how long this promo deal will be going on. When your guaranteed 3% rate 6 month period is over your new adjusted rate will still be quite good unless the prime rate goes down. (It will go down to prime minus 2%...which is higher than most any savings rates today). HINTS: 1. When applying, you have to accept several agreements by clicking on each and then accepting each by checking the box on that agreement page before going on to the next agreement. If you do not do this the greyed out box unagi talked about will not be clickable. 2. Open a side checking ( choose the FREEdom type) account at Susquehanna to use for pushing future deposits into the bank. Then transfer the money into your savings from that checking account. This extra step is needed because you cannot have an external bank link directly to your savings account without doing those test deposits and most banks (not Incredible Bank, however) take the test deposits out again and this will count as a withdrawal. 3. Close the account if you do not keep at least $100000 in it because the next lower tier has a terrible interest rate. 4. Always start at external banks to do ACH transfers because Susquehanna has low daily limits on moving money in or out. 5. Make sure to sign up for electronic statements or there is some fee.
Not long after my post, I all of the sudden got all the documents and information for my account via email.
So my understanding is there are only a couple of people working on the internet division, which is probably why the Customer Service experience has not been the best.
However once I got the emails and an account number, I emailed with several questions and the Service reps in that department were very pleasant and had all the right answers.
They do have pretty tight restrictions about getting your money in and out, but for the 3% for 6 months it might be worth the effort.
Trying to apply for the Premium Savings (3%) and at the last stage of the lengthly application, the button to submit it is greyed out. Tried again on a second browser -- and still doesn't work. Sent a message on their website since CR is closed on weekends. I really don't want to do this via a lengthy call..... Not impressed so far.....

How's this for a new low for customer service: The majority of the time, when you call customer service, you're given to a voicemail machine that says they'll call you back. They do - but only about half the time. Yesterday was a banner day - you couldn't even leave a message, because their 'mailbox' was full. If you need anything done in a timely manner, this is not the bank for you. Unreal.
My experience:
Funding the account is a nightmare. They will link your account to external bank only to verify that it is you but cannot transfer more than $5000 using the bank website. (With a $1.50 fee + 5 days for ACH)
Your external bank will have to do the pushing and pulling of funds from SCB. If you use SCB website to push or pull funds, the limit is $5000 each way and pulling out funds costs $30 wire transfer fee each time. What a nightmare of a bank. Stay away as you get different answers from different people you call, if you get through after 30 minutes of hold music
