Accidents happen, lost my wallet and over night someone snagged it up. The next morning there were fraudulent charges on my account. The TBK Bank was steadfast in helping me with my issue. The customer agent Michelle showed the BEST customer service i have ever seen. She was quick to relate and show sympathy for my current situation. I cannot thank her enough.

The Durango, CO / Bayfield, CO hired a manager who stole in so many different techniques. There may have been more of the staff included, with one definetely working at Bayfield, CO location. They cut and copy signatures, they wash checks and reuse them. They sell customers info, and use customers debit card info to take large withdrawals. Then when approached about their staff's criminal activity, the fraud dept ignores the customer. They do not stand by their bank at all. They do not stand by the customers, who make their bank. They stand by their thieves who take from their bank. THIS IS THE WORST BANK IN HISTORY ! DO NOT TRUST THEM. USE A DIFFERENT BANK. TRUE STORY !
I don’t know why I even bothered with this bank. Opening up my business checking account they decided to hold the check from my previous bank for 10 business days. So during that 10 days she orders my checks I requested during the account opening which overdrawls my account. That was upsetting since it was A cashiers check . Not long after that I made some check deposits. And was told that the 12000 in check deposits was also going to be put on 10 day hold. Now at this point I’m getting upset. Because we are past the first 30 days crap. I reach out and I’m told by other branch’s that only the bank mngr can release the hold. So now I go to the bank manager and she say the reason for the holds is because I’m continually over drafting. When I was only overdrafted because they ordered my checks when they had my original deposit on hold. So mow I going the bank to deposit and it never fails the teller day I’ll be back. Goes to the mngr room then comes back and proceeds to tell me my deposit is on a 10 day hold. That’s 10 business days.how does a business operate when a bank does this. So I’ve been 5 months with my deposits being held unless I go when the mngr is not there. A few times I was lucky she wasn’t there and funds was made available instantly!!
1. First they changed my checking account to a different type of account without my permission.
2. My personal banker was promoted and moved, and no one replaced them. When calling you always get faceless people on the phone at a different branch who don't want you to know who they are.
3. They closed the branch bank I used for a period of time with no warning. I can't even talk to anyone at that location by phone.
4. I called to cash-out a couple of CD's and was told I would have to do it at the drive-thru.
5. Even though the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, their lobbies are still closed.
6. I auctioneer and found that there is either a limit or charge for every check deposited over a number.
7. All lead to Very Poor Customer Service.
8. Taking my money elsewhere where I can walk in and talk to a live person!
I'm power of attorney for my mother's finances. As such, I thoroughly review and consult prospective banks and credit unions regarding opening up accounts and CD's in her name. Some financial institutions won't open accounts with a POA. Knowing that, I spoke to several people at TBK about opening up an account and getting a CD, which was rather difficult because like others have said their phone responsiveness sucks. In particular I spoke to someone named Troy who was purported to be their "CD Specialist". Their rates were good at the time and my other CD's were maturing.
After being told numerous times by different people that there should be no problem opening up a POA account, and actually faxing them my POA documents, I withdrew my maturing CD funds from the other bank and went to TBK to open an account only to be told that I couldn't do so with a POA. After demanding to speak to the idiots that informed me otherwise, the head idiot bank manager came out and rudely and unapologetically confirmed that to be the case.
So there I was standing in their lobby with huge cashiers checks and no place to put them thanks to their clueless employees. I had to scramble to find another bank with decent rates and who would accept a POA.
I hope TBK management are happy they lost out on half a million in deposits that day (2 POD's).
I just spent 45 minutes with my local branch because they took money out of my account to pay something that I did not authorize. Them to do as I did not have sufficient funds. It therefore sent me into a overdraft. Then they continued to charge me overdraft every 5 days. It took longer than that for the letter to even get to me. I was in the process of closing the account. The bank manager was of no help. The best help I can be to anyone else is do not use this facility for any kind of banking they are of no help whatsoever
I have never been so sorry as the day TBK took over our bank. I had been banking at the same location for 17 years and NEVER had an overdraft or any extra fees. They had treated several of my family members poorly so I was in the process of changing banks. I didn't realize the date of an automatic payment and I didn't have enough money in my account. My bad. I should have known..I received notice in the mail, went down next day to take care of it and they DOUBLED the fee because it had been too many days! I explained that I had just received the notice but that didn't matter...you know these things come from Texas or some other state we cant help you. NEVER AGAIN will I have a bank that isn't reasonable when errors occur.
Not happy with this business. The online application process does not allow you to continue after they ask you to read and accept their disclosure page.
