My credit union is used for a personal savings and checking. I have used my credit union for 6+ years, the fees are reasonable and they give you leniency before they charge you certain fees. I would say the customer service does need work for example, when you deposit money through the drive thru tellers they rarely greet you or talk to you. Last time I was depositing some money they said is this all you need and after saying yes they said okay I'll send a receipt shortly. I like my web/mobile experience but it does have a lot of down time but overall its pretty decent.
I have been a member at this bank for many years now and it is a decent local bank. Their customer service i think can be improved a little bit, which you'd think as a small company would be pretty good. I have had questions before that many seem do not know the answer too, which is ok, but it seems to be a running theme at many branches. I also do not like how they have limits on the amount of transactions per month you can make between accounts. I'm not sure why that is it is not like actual currency is moving anywhere...? it all just digital number. I have been turned down for a particular savings account before too when i was younger and the officer i spoke to was a little disrespectful about it. For being a small bank it is decent, i don't do a whole lot of business there besides just a checking and a few savings account. There app has greatly improved too. I would like to see a few more features like the other big banks have but i understand there are certain things ill have to live with because its a smaller bank. Overall, i'm fairly happy with it. I'd recommend it if you just need a basic checking and savings account but not much more after that.
Customer service needs a lot of work.
The way they are set up is that one rep get's all the inbound calls. You can't talk to a branch. It's a terrible system of communication. As soon as my CD is up, I'm out of there.
Opened up a RCA with them which was hassle free and at the time, paying a competitive 4%. The rate slowly declined to the point where they totally eliminated their RCA. They allowed existing customers to be grandfathered in but at 1.50%, it's not worth the debits. Perhaps if they reinstate their RCA with a higher interested rate I would reconsider.
