Great local banking option

I got tired of having my accounts in the big name banks that don't care about their customers. I've been with Trustone Financial a couple years now and I'm very satisfied. The employees are competent and helpful. There are several locations all very welcoming.

TruStone Financial

I have been banking with TruStone Financial Credit Union since I was a little kid. While growing up, they provided the tools I needed to save money after my first job and after receiving gifts from relatives. This Credit Union provided me with basic financial literacy knowledge that I would need to succeed later in life. As I've grown older, I have continued to find TruStone to be very customer-oriented and full of knowledgeable bankers. I have also personally compared their rates with other banks and found that their returns on both CDs and savings accounts to be higher than others. I also have a checking account with TruStone financial and have found the experience to be positive. As long as TruStone remains in business, they will have me as a customer. I would highly recommend TruStone to anyone looking to switch banks or credit unions.

Not For CA

I called them and told me that one cannot open a CD account if lives in California or any other state except Mi and Wis.

Even if pays the $10 membership for their foundation

Is that true?

TruStone is nice

Trustone financial is a small bank in my local community. It acquired an even smaller local credit union about 2 years ago. The bank is very convenient to my house and the customer service within the bank is top notch. Since it is a small bank in a small community, most of the tellers know me by name when I walk into the bank. I go into the bank less and less these days since most of my banking can be done online. If they every offered making check deposits with my smart phone, I probably would no longer have a need for the bank.

Trustone (South Shore Credit Union)

This credit union was convenient to my house and my mother was also a member. The nice thing about the credit union was the times I had to go into the credit union there were never many people waiting and I received good service from the tellers. The online functionality was a drawback, however. It may have gotten better over time, but being able to access balance information or processing payments was not easy and substandard relative to what the bigger banks offered.

I have been with this bank for over 20 yrs. (AMCCU) and in those 20+ years have never really had any "real" issues until NOW. This past weekend over about a 4 or 5 hour time span my ENTIRE account was stolen from me and I never receive even a simple text msg alert that anything was happing. That is until my account hit a minimum threshold that I set. In the digital age we live in I am not surprised that this happen, I am surprised that TRUSTONE does not have any safe guards in place to send up RED FLAGS when debit withdrawal of 400$ get taken out 3x at the same ATM out of state, and it is allowed. Then 20 min later 3 more debit withdraws for 300$ get taken out again 3x and nothing happened. Then again 20 min later at another ATM 320$ - 3x and nothing from TRUSTONE. This continued like this until my checking and savings were wiped out. I had to call them once I got a text msg. that my account went below the threshold I set. To their credit the money was back into my account by Tuesday afternoon but I have yet to get an explanation as to HOW THIS HAPPEN. Their customer service is a JOKE. I called and called and called and FINALY got a call back after my $$ was returned. I asked to talk to the Branch Manager and am still waiting for that call....So now after 20+ years of being a member, I am pulling all my accounts and would urge anyone with a Debit card to do the same, YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE!!!

Worst Credit Union!

This company bought out my old credit union, and since then they have pushed changes to policy and procedures without notifying their customers.
For instance they say our old checks will work and yet they don't, because they change our account numbers and routing numbers without ANY notification. They claimed they notified everyone, yet no one I know heard anything!
This made for direct deposits to fail among other issues no one can ever give a direct answer.
To boot the NCUAA says they aren't backed by them.
As soon as I can I will leave them behind and warn EVERYone to avoid them!

Trustone Financial Credit Union Mortgage Dept.

We were long standing members of the Trustone Financial but would not recommend this financial institution to anyway. Their customer service is extremely poor. We found out back in 2014 while applying for a loan at a different financial institution that Trustone Financial reported us to the credit bureau back in 2012 as being delinquent. It affected our credit rating for years which caused insurance premiums to rise. We notified Trustone Mortgage department with documents to prove we had paid the mortgage off and they reported us as delinquent. They said they would fix it. We dealt with several people in May of 2014 and they said it would be taken care of. Then in August 2015 we are at a closing and a credit report still says that Trustone Financial has reported us delinquent. More emails and calls to Trustone and still nothing was done. A complaint was filed with the Better Business Bureau and the issue is still not resolved. Do not use this Credit Union for your financial needs or loan. They are awful to work with and do not take responsibility for their actions. Beware. All you will get is we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Like years of losing money which it cost us when it was their error. Horrible service.
