I've dealt with Union Savings Bank for five years and have never, never had a bad experience. I love this bank. The interest rates are good. The people are friendly. We have two accounts (maintained for different purposes) and I'm thinking about opening a third. So glad to have discovered this neighborhood bank.
This is the worst bank ever. My husband and I took a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate our 5th year wedding anniversary. On the last day and the most important day our bank card would not work at all. I contacted our bank several times. The customer rep. tried to say it was because we had use our card over the limit amount of time. I told the rep that was a lie we had not use our card at all that day. Any way she said that she would change the limit to where we would be able to use our card again. She assured me that once we hung up my card would be working immediately. That did not happen. My card kept declining or just simply not being read. By this time we called the bank back which was close. Now it was the 24/7 number that I was linked with. Once we got on the phone with a new customer rep. This lady did not have a clue in reference to what was going on with my account on top of that she said she was only a receptionist. We stayed on the phone with this lady for over an hour trying to get help explaining to her that our flight leaves at 5:00 pm we are stuck in Las Vegas with no access to our money without a proper reason why? We begged her to please put a manager on the phone, please put someone on that could help us. She insisted that she could not do that and that we had to call back the next morning when the bank open. She gave us an 1800 number for the next day and hung up. We were furious!!!! With all this being said we made it back home, the next morning we were at the bank as soon as it open talking to a known branch manager Elizabeth in the Madison office. This is where even more disbelief took place. We come into this bank at least once a week she know us well as far as banking with them. It came to a shock to me to be standing here in front of this lady explaining everything that we had been through and for her to seem like she didn't believe it, or for some reason trying to find a reason to put the blame on us, she did not try to resolve the issue seriously, but what she did was printed off our banking report of what we had spent which meant absolutely nothing if we had funds available. She basically was treating us like we were incompetent. Then she kept saying I wish it was something I could do. I really feel bad. But lets keep it real you were not the one stranded in Las Vegas without access to your money, not knowing how you were going to get home, or pay for anything that you needed. She kept asking us what is it that she could do? Well we are not going to ask the people in Las Vegas that helped us how can we show our gratitude we are just going to show our gratitude by any means necessary because we are truly grateful for what they did to make sure we got back home safely. It should never have been a question of what. it should have been a statement that started with; "This is what we are going to do". We use to love this bank, until it really came down to needing this bank. WORST BANK, CUSTOMER SERVICE, CUSTOMER REPRESENTIVES, 24/7 LINE, ATM, VISA CHECK CARDS, BRANCH MANAGER...
