Love UNIWYO!!! I joined while I was attending college at the University of Wyoming. While I reside in Atlanta, GA now they are still able to take care of all of my financial needs. Great checking account. Savings rates are good. I was also very appreciative of the credit card rate I was provided, and the rewards are great too. Everyone has always been very friendly and willing to help, and anytime I have called in the wait to speak to someone is always short. Look forward to being a member for life!
My son and daughter in law attended the University of Wyoming and graduated in 2016. They had an account at the Credit Union and were happy with the service.
A few months ago in 2020, WyoFed had a great CD rate so I went through the application process and was denied. When I contacted them, they said the denial comes from ChexSystems. I then wrote a letter to WyoFed explaining I had been transferring several IRA's to credit unions from a large mutual fund company due to higher rates and there were a lot of inquiries on my credit report. Never heard back from that letter or subsequent phone calls.
Then I went to a local credit union here in the Denver area, explained the ChexSystems problem, and they okayed the IRA transfer on the spot.
It just amazes me that financial institutions check my credit when they are the ones borrowing money from me!
As of December 2020 UniWyo FCU changed their banking services, and now requires you to pay an additional $5.00 convenience fee every time you want to pay your loan. There are some ways to get around the fee, but requires Auto Pay, Bank to bank Transfer, or driving to a Branch office. I do not do Auto Debits. Under the old system you posted amount to be withdrawn, date you wanted it taken and no fees. Now all that is gone. UniWyo FCU has forgotten that Customer/Member care is first. They have lost my business, and I do not recommend that other people join. There are so many other Financial Institutions that do not charge all these fees just to boast their Bottom line. UniWio Rates an "F" and has failed their Members. Do not use UniWyo for any banking or Financial Services.
