Wau bank is offering some very competitive Cd's.
Things is I had a few problems with their site. Wau's cd's are only available in certain states but that was ok with me. I started my application (actually it was an application of eligibility) I gather this was to insure you were a resident of the select states. The app does not inform you of this ahead of time, so you could fill the whole thing out before you found out. The site wanted a great deal of information but I could not find a place for a beneficiary. Before I went further I called asked about a beneficiary, I was 'told that a form could be sent to me and I could fill it out, have it notarized and return it to them. As I was filling out the app earlier I noticed a place for a co-applicant so I asked if I could go back and check the box for a co-applicante . The answer was "no" I would have to do the application over. I decided that I would cancel my application and go in and read all the disclosure info. I discovered that I could only pull this up if I had completed the application. In addition, there early withdrawal fees are rather harsh.
This seems to be a sound bank and if you can get around some of the problems their rates are good.
Just an aside --the customer service had to check on my questions since she didn't have the answers.
This bank is unable to supply the online customer with a timely, usable security code. They claim for unknown reasons, that gmail delays their emails exceeding the usable time limit. Therefore after going through the time consuming set up and trouble shooting process I was unable to set up EFT with my core account at another bank. What a waste of time, they should tell their customers what I am telling you. "If you have gmail forget this bank".
