Small overconservative CU. Requires excessive verification for everything.
Photo of drivers license, plus a scan mailed in (it was "lost" by first CSR), then a second scan mailed to HQ required just to open $10 membership savings. Two months time elapsed.
Another site listed a deposit bonus. Turned out no such thing existed.
Was invited by emailed name to open credit card. Something looked out of whack in the first few computer questions. Called CSR (Thank you, helpful!) Turns out application must be Reviewed by an Underwriter-- after usual borrower information is submitted and 4 questions plus hard pull come back satisfactorily. That's when you get approved, often within 1 day in banks. Review is often many CUs code for we're going to deny you by some trick such as unusual documentation. Which others have tried on me--a retired banking professional--just say no to passport, pay slip, make Social Security Administration confirm SSN, and worse.
