Short Term 5% CD Deals

I found a few CD specials with rates of 5% and over with terms of 25 months or less. Since interest rates are rising, you may want to avoid locking into a long term CD even one with a high rate. Unfortunately, the CDs that I've found are from credit unions which have restrictive fields of membership (FOM). But if you live near one of these credit unions, there's a good chance you can join. In fact, one of them (King County CU) allows anyone in Washington State to join. Also note many of these are specials that may expire by the end of this month.
As advertised on the websites as of October 26, 2005. All rates in APY
Many of the CD specials that I have listed in previous posts are still valid: Oct 17th post, Oct 13th post and Oct 11th post.
