Veridian CU Is Back On The Big List Of Credit Unions Anyone Can Join
Let’s start the week off with some good news: Veridian Credit Union is still part of the “Big List” of credit unions anyone can join.
I want to thank the many DA readers who commented on the July 21, 2017 blog post. Your experiences and first-hand knowledge of the situation was a tremendous help in clearing up any misunderstandings about Veridian and Dwolla.
This morning I received an email from Veridian, clarifying the easy membership requirement (EMR) through Dwolla.
You’re right that Dwolla has shifted its focus to businesses and removed its functionality for individual users. Fortunately, they’re continuing to provide a way for individuals to sign up so we can honor our commitment to this EMR. While personal accounts won’t have the P2P functionality, individuals can still create a personal Dwolla account to qualify for Veridian membership by signing up here. You can also find that link on our website here.
The last paragraph on Veridian’s “Looking for Answers” page now includes a link to Dwolla and reads as follows:
Dwolla’s 2016 shift to business payment services also removed the payment functionality in personal accounts for individual users. However, personal Dwolla accounts are still available to qualify for Veridian membership.
Credit Unions Anyone Can Join
Veridian Credit Union is back on the "Big List" of credit unions anyone can join, and will hopefully remain there for a long time. You can use this "Big List" to find other credit unions that have easy membership requirements.
