Join Digital Credit Union, put $5 in their savings and get a free credit score once a month at the end of the month. Think it is the 4th Friday and it is under messages. The score is from Experian. There are many reporting agencies and each bank, company etc can use a different one.

Rosie:  I belong to Digital Credit Union and they were giving me the free credit score for several months.  However, they have discontinued it for me because they said I closed my checking account. I told them from the beginning I had no need for a checking account with them and thought it was closed then.  Maybe they thought I would change my mine.  However, it seems they are only giving free credit scores if one has a checking account with them and I think it has to be a Relationship Checking.   I still keep the $5.00 in their savings account but they said that does not qualify me for the free credit scores.

I did add a little to my savings account and I am still getting my FICO score. My last score was the end of July. I have no checking.

Rosie:  Maybe we had our account longer than yours and we ran out of time for the free FICO.  I am not concerned about getting it or I would call back and see if that rep knew what she was talking about.  I still have the savings account open with the $5.00 in it.

For those who are interested in getting their FICO score from Digital Credit Union, I emailed them as to what the requirements were and got this reply this morning:

       "You need a
checking account with plus benefits. Plus benefits requires any two of
the following three: direct deposits, e-statements, or active loan."

I don't have any of that and also closed my checking account so I can understand why they decided to end giving me the FICO score all these months.
