401K Question.

How long does /should it take to transfer money in one fund to another ? I was thinking it would be like a stock purchase and that it would be done within 1 business day. . Not talking about cashing out or a rollover.

When I was working it would show the next morning as being transferred. Not sure if it is
quicker now. We would do it on-line.

Not any quicker --I transferred everything to a fixed income fund and it wasn't processed for 4 days --lost over $4k in value. Prudential.
