Joining Hughes FCU

Has anyone joined Hughes FCU by making a donation from out of state to any of the three local non-profits? .

I mailed an application and a check to Oro Valley PL two weeks ago and did not hear from them nor was the check deposited. Should I continue to wait?

Have you tried called them on the phone or emailing them? Someone there should be able to tell you if they ever got the check. By two weeks, they should be able to find something by your name. Best of luck.

My understanding is that Hughes has a paper-based process that relies on snail mail. When I inquired about the app process a month or so ago, I was told to complete and submit app for Hughes review, which, by the way, includes hard credit pull. IF app is approved, Hughes sends back paperwork for you to sign and return by mail. To purchase a CD requires yet another app. That rep made everything conditional on approval of membership app, saying several times, "If application is approved ...", which I found very unwelcoming and a turnoff. If you're still interested, give them a call.
