Verification Withdrawals Counting As Part Of The 6 Monthly On Savings Accounts

Tried to link a credit union account with my ally savings account. For some reason it could not be done through Ally. So the cu made 2 deposits and withdrawals to my ally account. They counted these as two of my 6 transactions. I didn't know these counted. Is this standard?

In my experience, yes. Reg D is Reg D and there is no exception in the reg either for trial withdrawals or for very small withdrawals of less than $1.

That said, Ally would likely work with you if you ask them to help out and grant you some slack. This obviously is a special situation. Course if you don't ask you don't get.
