CCU's alert system emailed me that there had been a withdrawal on my Rewards Checking account in the amount of (x.xx). I checked the amount against my known transactions and did not recognize the amount.
A CSR explained that during the recent conversion the rewards tracker did not account for 9/1 in calculating interest due, so members' accounts were being adjusted. Some members will be able to see this in their accounts right away. However for some members - like me - for some reason they calculated the additional interest, reversed it (hence the withdrawal notification) and then posted it again. The CSR could see the adjustment amount on her system, but I could not see it on mine, so she generated an error ticket for the online department.
Recapping: the good news: additional interest being posted.
The bad news: you may be alerted about a withdrawal in an unknown amount. You may or may not spill your coffee in a rush to grab the phone and call the credit union. Call it "heightened alert after the Equifax breach" syndrome.
