Does Anyone On DA Know How Much The 2017 Monthly Medicare Premium Was For Part B?

I am working on something and I just got blocked out of the social security webpage. I could not remember my "secret question" or password. I just found out on the Medicare webpage that the premium for 2018 is going up to approx. $134.00 month but I just can't find any way to get that 2017 monthly premium which I need to add up for what I am doing. I know if any one knows what it is, they have to be a poster on DA. So would you please post it for me. Last year I thought it was about $101 month but that can't be right since it is now a whopping $134.00 a month and can be even more for the higher incomes!

Thanks soooo much to anyone who can share this with me so I can complete my task at hand. Much appreciation!

You can look at your My Social Security on the SS site. It went up to $135 for new retires that had income under $85,000. It also would have been on the paperwork you received Dec 2016 when they sent you the notice. You also can call them on Tuesday.

We didn't get that paperwork last month. I know I can call them Tuesday but I was trying to work on it tonight. I just figured someone else on DA was paying the same standard rate so I could get it from them and then recheck it Tuesday if I can get through on those ever busy SSA or Medicare lines. Their normal paperwork called SSA something must be running late due to all the holidays. BTW, I did post I was blocked out of the SS site. That has everything I need on it. No big deal. I'll get it from someplace else.

It depends when you retired and the amount of your SS check. If your COL raise was less than the increase in Medicare you did not have to pay it for that year. When your COL went up enough to cover the cost of Medicare which has been $134 for a couple of years and it was this for new retirees you will pay $134.

Did you find out if SS requires a person to change their password every 6 months?

Ally6770 -- I went to log on with Social Security last week. I had to change my password. (I had not logged on in a long time.)

I absolutely hate that SS webpage! It kept telling us our security answers were wrong! I can see spouse being off the fence but "I" certainly know the name of my one and only school friend! I got up early to call them and this guy said when they do that and block us it is usually because we asked them to block us for a possible identity theft and forgot to tell them to unblock us. Months ago I did do that but I thought they automatically unblocked you after about 3 months or so. Now they want all this paperwork from me to prove who I really am. No way. Not at this time of year when I am inundated with financial stuff!

Then I returned to the site and like a miracle, it let me make a new password since I knew my user ID and I got in! That is kooky for a government page! So I did get the info on the Medicare and am happy about that. They still don't like spouse because he still insists he lived on a street they don't have. Hmmmmm...... So he's out but for a while, I seem to be in.
