I recently found 2 CDs that were started in 1988 and 1989. I am the trustee for my 2 daughters. They were purchased from the National Bank of Grand Prairie, Texas. We now live in Western Colorado. I called the banks in Grand Prairie with the word National in them , but they were not the correct bank.

I have the original CDs. There is very little information about the actual bank on them.

It would be helpful if you provided the name of the bank, as best you can. Was it "National Bank of Grand Prairie, Texas"? Or was it "National Bank of Grand Prairie"?

_If_ it was "National Bank of Grand Prairie", then it should be "Grand Bank of Texas", From the website of "Grand Bank of Texas":

"Grand Bank of Texas was originally chartered in 1975 as National Bank of Grand Prairie."

What were terms of the CD's. Unless they were extremely long term both would have already matured. How do you know they were not cashed in at the end of the original term or renewed?

29 and 30 years ago? Probably remitted to the state as inactive account / unclaimed property.

You may want to start with the Texas Department of Banking, found here: https://www.dob.texas.gov/
