Shortage Of Brokered CD's?

Happy New Year everyone. I have notice the the number of brokered CD's

offered by Fidelity has diminished to only 45 choice across the entire interest

range?. In the pasted I have seen 300 to 500 offerings. What's going on?

The banks represented is very limited; Wells Fargo, Chase, China Bank, ....

Is there a reason for this? Is this the same with Vanguard brokered CD's?

Thanks....just wondering why?

Wow -- if it's only 45 across the entire range (new issue, secondary issue, callable, non-callable), that is bizarre. Perhaps that's not the case -- perhaps you only looked at new issues, in which case it's a fairly common weekend thing -- and this is the weekend between Christmas and New Year's Day. If it's 45 new issues, there will be a greater number available on Monday. If it really is 45 issues across the entire interest range, maybe it's time to go long (or invest in precious metals, canned goods, and firearms.)

First, correcting a mitake above - "If it's 45 new issue, there _may_ be a greater number available on Monday."

I just checked Vanguard, which does not require you to log in. 44 new issues listed; 322 across the entire range. I suspect both figures will be larger on Monday. Have a good weekend.

frankfx -- the weekend is over; bond and cd trading resumes shortly; Vanguard now lists
1116 brokered CDS across the entire range (new issue, secondary issue, callable, non-callable);
