Why aren't high quality municipal bonds sought after like CDs? Or are they? Should I invest in them like I do CDs?

If you are in a high federal and state tax level, they could be worth considering. Their low returns are less appealing if they are not saving you a lot of taxes.

Most are good and safe, but ALL have some risk. I have had school or housing bonds go to zero. DO NOT do Puerto Rico bonds, schools, housing, or some special events. Higher risk than a general revenue tax free bond. Yields as of late have been poor.
