Hyperion CD

Has anyone NOT received their CD via email opened towards the end of the promotion on 3/4/19? I spoke with the Hyperion representative that said CD was opened, and they are backed up. Feeling uncomfortable that they have not mailed me the official certificate.

Like you, I haven't received anything in writing by email or snail mail from Hyperion. I have communicated with them only by phone. I have a note they would be sending out a signature card, which I will call them about this week.

I've never been particularly concerned about getting an official certificate. You may want to go on their home page and click on "First Time User" to register for online access. This should at least allow you to see some sign that your money is really there in your CD. It looks like you may have to keep calling them to get access to the certificate itself.

They seem to be a small operation that got overwhelmed. I'd guess they're easier to reach and get a response from now that they should have been able to deal with the sudden surge of activity.

Thanks for responding. I feel better. I talked to asst. branch mgr. Laura Wyatt, who said she received
the check and opened the CD, and that she is "working on it". Great idea to to register for online access, I'll do that immediately. Let's hope when the maturity date comes, they will be better prepared!

I now have online access to see CD acct# and details. Here's Sat reply to above Fri email. QUOTE:

We greatly appreciate your patience. We have to manually process applications, generate signature cards, etc., we are still working on mailing them out.
I’ve setup online access, click on “first time user” and follow the prompts. If you have any issues, please let me know.

I'm the original poster. I called because I couldn't even see mine in the online account. While I waited on hold the rep added it to the online account, but still no emailed certificate. The rep said she she was going to tell assistant manager (Laura)
to send certificate, but that was 3 days ago. We're all in this together, so let's keep updating each other.

Aww ... two people, of how many here, acknowledge having online access to an account so far? And, everyone is waiting for a "signature card." Not sure what a "signature card" is or why I want one. My check was endorsed on Mar 8th and cleared my checking account Mar 11th. Ten business days of silence seems like a long time and doesn't exactly inspire great confidence. Clearly, Hyperion wasn't ready to handle the activity that a nation-wide offering could generate. We can only imagine what will happen in 19 months when everyone wants their money back.

JWARREN Not sure what a "signature card" is or why I want one.

MAYBE when the CD matures and we want to withdraw the money we will be required to put the request in writing with signature, and then they verify that signature matches the "signature card". JUST MY GUESS, or maybe just a formality that will never come into play. Think the purpose of them was for catching checking account forgeries in general.
AGREE that in 19 months the exit will likely be just as "precarious" LOL
