Depositaccounts Add-On CD Search...

How great would that be if DepositAccounts had a functionality to search for Add-On CD's.

I love this site. And It has helped me really maximize my return on savings for the last few years. With that said, now that rates seem to be trending lower, I'd love to lock in more Add-Ons as a hedge for 1-2-3 years down the road when my ladders mature and I need new places to park the cash. Of course this assumes rates continue on a negative trend. But even so, having Add-On Cd's with small opening deposits does not tie up too much cash and allows me to sleep better at night knowing I have a plan for down the road.

So Ken... Is that a difficult ask?

Yes... I read that. But there are only a few banks noted in the article with add-on certificates. Is that actually all there are?
BTW, the GTE 3.04% while limited to 100k each, will allow you to open multiple certificates per the service representative.

simonebaxter, where did you come up with the information that the GTE 3.04% CD is limited to $100K - from everything I've read the add-on is unlimited. The Mountain America 2.95% CD, however, does has $100K cap which is a cumulative total for all add-on CDs under the same social security number.

RickZ is correct, I re-checked and there is no limit to how much you can add to the GTE certificate. Thanks Rick I'm glad I checked.

I bought some of the GTE 3.04% APY CDs several weeks ago. My disclosure forms indicate no caps of $100K, or any other amount. They also state that the CDs "allow for deposits of $20.00 or more throughout the term of the share certificate, with no limit".

Hi
That's what they told me when I spoke to them.
100k max per certificate. I'll check back Monday, thanks.
Still, be nice to know if there are others to choose from.

simone, if you type add on cd in the search box you'll see all threads that have mentioned
add on cds that have come, gone, or present.

Yeah I've done that. Still, It would just be nice to see everything that's available in real time, in one place. Similarly to the way one can search for other types of deposit account products.

There are so few of them (especially the ones at attractive rates) - so not much more to keep up with - and so much interest in them, it does seem like a worthwhile addition to the website. With the appropriate database field added, it would just take a checkbox on the CD search page to turn on a filter to only show add-on-capable CDs, just like you can already choose other checkboxes there.
