Sign Up With NSA Or NNALEA To Join Justice Federal CU Lately?

Has anyone recently signed up with one of those those organizations and then joined JFCU? My understanding is that I would need to first join one of the organizations separately first to qualify and then apply to JFCU. Can this be done all in one day, or is there a wait to get a verification letter (email or snail mail?) before joining JFCU. Can I just give JFCU a membership number as proof or do I need some other form of verificaiton?

Thank you for the tips! It helps to know what to expect and how much I need to plan ahead of time to get an account set up.

No, it can't be done in a day. I can tell you, NNALEA will take a good two weeks to get you the paperwork JFCU requires you show. JFCU will not accept merely proof that you have joined, as in your receipt and NNALEA's e-mail acknowledge you joined. NSA might be a bit faster, but is it not immediate either and costs more.

JFCU operates in a stupid manner. I take that as a very bad omen of what to expect from them going forward. And I had an extremely bad experience with them trying to join in person at a branch, and did not manage to accomplish it, and will never have anything to do with them after how they treated me. I cannot rate them low enough, a zero would be too high for them. I would warn everyone to avoid them, no matter how high a rate they might be offering.
