I currently dont have much in the way of truly liquid funds, thsnks to being scared into buying CD's. However, I do have 50K at Capital one that has 2 more months to wait before I get the $500 bonus from their promotion. It scares me that I havent gotten confirmation I qualified, but I refuse to wait an hour on the phone to get it confirmed.

Anyway my question is, do any of you think it would be good to just get out of capital one, dumping it into my Ally account and getting the $250 bonus and then using the other 25K for perhaps market speculation? Of course to get the $250 I have to leave it there till June 30th, but it seems to me that this isnt an awful play? Opinions?? Please.

I did the same thing on an earlier promotion and never got any confirmation but it happened. They paid the bonus. I sure wouldn’t get into the market.

I would probably suggest waiting before going into stocks anyway. 2 months from now you can invest if you want ... although it's possible even then it may be too early. Not sure when we'll hit the bottom.

I called Capital One and they confirmed I my account had `NEW500` applied to it. We'll see what happens in a few months but for now I'm gonna go for it.
