Chase Not Paying $200 New Account Bonus

Opened a new Chase Total Checking account to take advantage of a $200 bonus being offered for Grubhub drivers who withdraw their earnings to their new Chase checking.

I've met all the stipulations, today is the 10th business day, still no bonus. I called customer service today, on hold for 40 minutes. She tells me that I need to "talk to Grubhub." I call Grubhub, they say the promotion is still valid as long as it's posted on their website.

I've read elsewhere that Chase can give customers the run around when trying to get bonuses. Any thoughts, advice? Thanks.

I will update if/when I receive the bonus.

My first thoughts? Maybe wait until day 14 or 15 to make sure to cover any interpretation of when the required "cash out" transaction is considered to have posted and the count of "business days" to have begun.

Talk to a supervisor at Citi. Sounds like the CSR simply got rid of you. At least get details, do they even know you work for Grubhub. And why would you need to talk to Grubhub, were they supposed to send some sort of notice to Citi?

Just to clarify it's Chase, not Citi. It was so frustrating. I kept explaining to the rep that the bonus is offered and paid for by Chase, not Grubhub, but she kept saying the same thing, "you need to talk to Grubhub." After she used that same line about 5 times I asked for a manger, was put on hold again. I waited about 20 more minutes but needed to get going so I hung up.

At this time I would line all my ducks in a row call again ask to speak to supervisor explain situation an the run you have been going through with the previous CS agents. Just from my personal experience I have never had a problem with receiving a promo that Chase has offered this is 1 though I have not done

I ended up filing a complaint with the CFPB which caused Chase Executive customer service to reach out to me. After about a week of back and forth, they paid out the $200 bonus today.

88...But the real question is...what did CFPB do from a process point of view...what about others? The agencies need to solve the process issues
