Economic Impact Payment Card enabled by Money Network Financial, LLC. EIPCard.com Cards issued by MetaBank N.A. Member FDIC. Visa debit chip cards with Consumer name imprinted valid through 6/23 arrived recently to homes across the nation-- mine to NJ, relatives in Florida also received them. Verbatim: Enclosed is your Economic Impact Card. This prepaid debit card is being sent to you on behalf of the U.S. Department of the Treasury in place of a paper check. This card contains the money you are receiving as a result of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). For additional information on Economic Impact Payments visit IRS.gov/EIP. There is a blue and yellow elaborate insignia containing a Sheild/Stars/Balanced Scales 1789 The Department of the Treasury. Is this a scam? Or is it the rumored $1200 Pandemic Relief check mentioned in multiple media sources? Have/had any DA readers received this or know of any others who have? Thank you for opinions ventured.

Please see this statement at the website of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau:

The statement includes an image of a legitimate Economic Impact Card.

Thank you for your response. It helped tremendously to properly understand and process this piece of mail. Also to trust that it was not a scam.
