Marcus Transfer

Initiated a pull from an outside account out of my Marcus savings account, and they rejected it because the outside account was "not linked" on Marcus's side. Yes there were funds available. Is this something new or are they just putting up roadblocks?

Thanks

I have not heard of such protocols previously, but truth be told Marcus is the best bank I deal with regarding pull/pushing funds to external accounts. Most of the time the requested transfer completes the same day, and at worst the following day. No lost interest days!

Delete the link and reestablish it.  I'm not sure if you are aware but you can only initiate the transfer to PUSH or PULL funds from the bank that originated or established the link. Just because both are linked it does not mean you can go to either bank and do a transfer.

The pull was from a bank that established the link to Marcus, and Marcus still rejected it without a link on their side.

This morning I tried to pull an amount from a linked outside account, and they will not even let me do that. They don't even know why on their end, but I have to check back in three business days to see what the "next steps will be". In the meantime I cannot access any of my money. Stay away from Marcus.

I haven't had this specific issue, but have had several similar ACH transfer issues with Marcus. I like their rates and occasional specials but their history of arbitrary transfer roadblocks have kept me from doing more business with them.

I think I had an issue with Marcus once too but I just can't recall if It was a push or pull

But they are hard to deal with in that the account is locked and requires a phone call to unlock it if its been inactive and my account is always inactive unless I do their bonus promotions

I found out from a rep that if your account goes below $1 for 60 days you get locked out

And I always went down to 1 cent which is why I was locked out a few times

So I need to remember to keep $1 in there and not 1 cent

I am using Marcus for the first time without a bonus as AA has limits of $50k x2=$100k for 2 accts
Both pay the same .85% right now

Trying to defer opening a new account for now but TABs 1.26% is enticing

Never really had any problems with Marcus. Yes they can be slow. But being a online bank in new york more rules to follows. No walk in branches. I understand yes you can walk into a local bank and get it done immediately. But online you will wait 2-3 weeks. I am sure they are short handed like every other business in the USA, You will be taken care if just follow the rules and timelines. If you return to local bank you get paid .001 on your accounts. SO there id a trade off
