Any advice appreciated. I recently set up a link to a new bank account from my account at Barclays. The trial deposit verification went fine and Barclays allowed me to set a transfer from the new bank to Barclays. After I put in the transfer, Barclays requested an email (or snail mail) copy of a bank statement from the new linked bank. This didn't sound like a good idea to me so I tried to cancel the transfer I had requested only to find out that Barclays has taken the money from the new account but won't let me access the funds from them until I send a bank statement. It would seem like the thing to do is to just email Barclays a pdf of the bank statement? If this standard procedure now for linking accounts?

Ally demanded a statement from a newly opened account at Bask, it had only been open about 6 days so I did not have one. I called Bask and explained the situation. Bask was nice enough to provide me on their letterhead information stating that I did own the account in question. Ally took no action for several days I had to call them to get the ball rolling.
Just send Barclays a secure message regarding their request and paste the document requested. If you do not get a reply or actions in 24 to 48 hours do call them to get the ball rolling. I would not email or mail that document due to privacy issues, and delays.
