Anyone know if you can close a No-Penalty CD from CIT Bank online or if you have call them? Thank you.

Apparently, if the only transaction you need to perform is to close a CIT Bank No-Penalty CD you will need to speak to a CSR. However, if you want to close one CIT Bank No-Penalty CD and open another CIT Bank No-Penalty CD, DepositAccounts reader RZ has recently discovered a useful alternative:

“I just wanted to add a clarification. The way to bypass the csr queue to close and open the NPCD is to first log in and then to click open new account button. You will be given a funding option of using current account balances including the old NPCD. Once clicked the new rate is credited immediately although it will take 2 business days to transfer the funds. Not quite as intuitive as Ally but effectively bypasses the need to speak to a csr.”
