Will The Fed Fold And Pivot Despite Inflation Running Hot?

PCE inflation is what the Fed pays attention to and despite the hikes that have occurred PCE inflation is STILL increasing. Yet there is story after story about how there will be a pivot to avoid doomsday.

This is a rejection of reality or total manipulation of investor sentiment. What is the gameplay here ? Put pressure on the Fed to pivot ? Convince retail investors to get back into the market ?

Can the Fed show itself to be an apolitical entity and keep raising the rate? Or will it capitulate leaving us with never ending hyper inflation ?

Let's wait on this month's inflation data- that will force their hand. Either way, i dont think this was the pivot just yet, just slowing the overall pace of hikes.

I concede possibility Fed will feel less pressure once election is in rear view mirror and much of the caterwauling ceases.

CME futures are suggesting a .75 hike this month followed by .50 in December. That does not sound like a pivot per se but rather a taper in the slope of hikes. At some point early next year most are expecting a pause/hold. We will see.
