Do You Use Smart Phone Apps To Help You Invest?

I have an annoying “Smart Phone”, the “Moto G Pure” out of necessity to be able to receive those authentication codes sent by various banks and brokerages as part of the log in process. The other reason is because AT&T is no longer maintaining copper cables and my “land line” service became non repairable due to squirrel bites, lightning strikes, and cross-talk and other defects that plague copper wire technology of yesteryear. When AT&T will take down millions of tons of copper cables for salvage is anyone's guess as they are expected to end land line service soon and be completely wireless. Sadly, the voice quality of the old Bell System equipment can not be matched by current cell phone design and bandwidth. I think that is because they are actually hand-held computers that go way beyond being a telephone.

Anyway, I would be interested in knowing what Apps you are using and how they help with investing and money management. For me, cell phones are extremely annoying as I keep getting ding-dongs when new unsolicited announcements arrive. Hence, I keep it shut off most of the time unless listening to FM radio. Here in my computer shack, I like using the tower computer, display monitor, and full size keyboard as graphs, charts, financial websites, spreadsheets, etc. are more easily seen. And, there are no annoying announcements.

Also, have you seen any crazy times or locations when people use cell phones? I once saw a man on a bicycle, wearing a mask, and using his phone. On a recent workout a the Gym, we saw people on both treadmills and exercise machines using a phone. We have even seen people at a restaurant using their phone rather than eating. Wonder if their food got cold. You'd think when people go out they'd like to get away from the daily rat race and take a break from technology.

Lose your land lines?…no more 911 service w/o electricity! Most homeowners were “tricked “ into shutting down their landline and go with fiber…or no cell service…they were told this b/c landline providers do not want to pay for upkeep!

Yes, lost land lines due to maint & upkeep being ignored. Cables are coming unlashed and drooping down. I saw one AT&T cable resting on traffic light cabling. And underground pedestals have been backed over by tractor type mowers. No one seems to care. The old stuff had better speech quality before the digital age. So, I opted to forgo my concession and port my number to Google Voice. VoIP (voice over internet protocol) Then purchased the OBi 200 device to tie in my legacy house phones. It works great except we're getting a lot of SPAM calls.

You need a better PUC...you currently have no phone service w/o electricity...good luck!  PS:  AT&T does not have landlines!
