When Are Incoming ACH funds Sent/Received?

Has anyone figured out the time of night when (normal) incoming ACHs arrive?

When logging in around 2-3am (bank's time) it's never there, but by 7AM the next morning they've come in.

Each bank has their own system of course, but is there a time of night when the national ACH system "sends out" the funds out to the banks? Because incoming ACHs never show in the hours after midnight... but are there by 7am.

In all these years with all the places I've dealt with, I've never been able to figure out when at the night they actually post!

The ACH network submits transactions at 6 a.m., 12 p.m., 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 10 p.m. Eastern Time.
As already mentioned, how soon the received funds actually are reflected in our account via online banking is dependent on the specific bank themselves.

The sending and the posting do not necessarily occur together. ACH data can be sent in the middle of the night but not posted to your account, by the receiving financial institution, until early morning only a short while prior to opening of business. I see these transactions, across a wide variety of financial institutions, typically between six o'clock and nine o'clock in the morning.

It's also noteworthy that not all ACH funds movement activity is confined to the overnights. And postings can occur at any time, as well, during daylight hours.

as Kaight mentioned ACH transfers can occur any time of the day. I just did one last week that I initiated at 9am and it was posted to my account at 3pm same day. The month before I did the exact same transfer but initaited it at 1PM and it did not show up until 11AM the next day and it was the exact same 2 Financial Institutions.

In comments I have had from credit unions, I believe Kaight has the primary question here correct, but a bit overlooked: I have been told the requirement has been that any ACH coming in overnight must be posted before the financial institution opens in the morning. As for when they go into the system, that will depend on the sending financial institution. Also, they can be sent with instructions, including what later day they should be posted. I dont know if there is a requirement about notifying you about the delayed posting, but I do get a "pending" notice from my credit union.

Also, ACH transactions for the past few years can be sent to be at the receiving end same day.
