Dept Of Commerce FCU Question

I was told by Dept of Commerce FCU that they do a hard pull when one wants to join them (an older post from Ken said soft, but when I called, they said hard).

Question for those who've had more than one CD with them:

Do they have to do a credit check each time you open a new account (including each time you want to open a new CD?) This actually IS the case at some other CUs (clear to those who keep their credit files frozen by default).

If it's just a one-time pull when you join I don't mind, but if it needs to be done with each CD opened as it is with some other places, then I will not bother joining them. Please post on your experiences. Thank you.

I've opened a number of CDs with Commerce FCU over the 6 years I've been a member (with the most recent CD opening in Feb. of 2024) and never had a pull. I do have all my credit bureau accounts frozen so if they tried a pull, it would not have gone through.
