MACU Hitting Max CD Share#

At Mountain America CU (MACU), has anyone encountered issue opening CD online after you hit share # “S0099”?

Today 4/30/2025, I opened 2 Growth CDs. The 1st CD was opened as “S0099” and everything looks normal. The 2nd CD was opened as “S00**”. Instead of showing the 2 digits after the 00, it is showing **. It seems to run out of share# after ”99”. This 2nd CD is missing the Date Opened and Maturity Date under the Certificate Details. It is also missing the Transaction Details. The funding amounts for both CDs are already deducted from my primary savings. How to fix this now? Hate to call them to bring attention to my account since I have not done the auto $10/month transfer for all my Growth CDs. Over the last 2 years, I have opened many growth CDs for laddering purpose and may be it hits the limit now?

EdwardD: I had the same issue a year ago. You'll have to call MACU to open new certificates, as I did. Online numbers run from 0071 to 0099, the ones opened by calling started with 0030 and have gotten to 0041, so far. My checking account ends in 0050, so 0049 may be the limit, unless you open a new (second) membership with MACU, as they suggested I do. I can't open cert's. online, but can open them by phone under both membership numbers. Hope this helps.

EdwardD, I'm not positive about the numbering sequence but I did notice that some of my closed/matured account numbers have begun to repeat and used over again. That hadn't happened until just the past couple of months and took me by surprise when I clicked on the certificate detail portion of the accounts. There was old info from certificates dating back a few years. As far as you not adding the required $10/month deposit to your present Growth Certificates, unfortunately you are likely going to find out that they will no longer be considered Growth Certificates. As per their disclosure, and I am going from memory here, if the $10 minimum/month is not maintained, the Growth Certificate reverts back to a regular certificate.
