Savers usually don't start getting their 1099INTs until after Jan 30th and they can't file until they receive what they need. Also, many of the tax forms I need are still on backorder and not even on internet IRS site. I think very few filers can file as early as Jan 30th.
If you filed a tax return for any given year, you will be able to find information about your tax return filing status online. You may do this by visiting the official Internal Revenue Service website, the official website for the branch of United States government that deals with tax collection and tax law enforcement. The IRS website has an online feature that will allow you to track the status of your return by providing the answers to three questions. The website is safe to use and none of the information you provide will be used to sell you any products or services. It is used only to provide you accurate information on your filing status.
Not sure #2 was trying to sell anything just explaining that the IRS has a lot of free information for you.
The www.irs.gov site or by calling the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 you can get any kind of help you need. The IRS has answered many questions for me throughout the years. They are always very informative, read you the law, explain it and they will order the publication for you so you can have it for your records.

He didn't even give his business name or how to contact him so how is that advertising? BTW, I have used that IRS number thousands of times in the past and even now but it's not advantageous to wait until after January to call. You may have a long wait on "hold" once people start doing their forms. I have already called and gotten my questions answered.

It might have been best if he had not because after seeing his magnificent offices, he sure would be out of my league. :) Seriously, I don't think he has to come here to advertise if he works in that gorgeous place. My accountant worked out of his living room when he was still in business. He's retired now. I still think it could have been a desire to help by Gregory. After all, how many of us live near or in the Fort Worth area, also.
