Precious Metals / Miners

Dear Readers,

Precious Metals took a tumble last week.  Week before that Gold was around 1610. I bought a small amount last week when it was below 1560, and I bought a few miners as well.

Since then Gold has gone up.  Today it is around 1620. Miners have made gains as well.  If we see some more gains then perhaps I will sell.

Yours Truly.

Dear Readers,

For quick trading the miners I use GDXJ, PSAU and GLDX.  For slow trading I use PMPIX.  For quick trading of precious metals I use SGOL (for Gold) and SIVR (for Silver).

I did not buy any Palladium or Platinum last week.  But I'm looking forward to trading those in future.

Yours Truly.

Gold Heads for Worst Monthly Run Since 1997 as Demand Slumps

Spot gold was little changed at $1,597.50 an ounce at 9:18 a.m. in Singapore, down 4 percent in February. The metal reached $1,555.55 on Feb. 21, the lowest price since July, as some U.S. central bankers sought more flexibility on stimulus. Assets in bullion-backed exchange-traded products slumped to a five-month low of 2,508.53 tons yesterday and are poised to drop 4 percent this month, the biggest fall since April 2008. In volume terms, global holdings have dropped by 103.7 tons this month, more than five times the net sales in January.

Dear Readers,

Sold off GDXJ at 5% profit ... Now that's a 5% in one week.

If I were to do nothing with that "specifilc" money (evenif the money is fungible) for next 51 weeks then still I'll be way ahead of most 1 year CDs. Or for that matter most 5 year CDs as well. :-)

But I will try to use that money (and profit) to generate more profit in next 51 or more/less weeks!

Dear Readers,

Gold moved up today ... The re-test of the lows we saw in week Feb 18 to Feb 22 appear to have held.  Let is see if gold can move up 1620 next and if that has become a resistance.

Miner are doing a bit better than gold.  SIL, PSAU, GLDX are all up.

Dear Readers,

Gold is making some decent move up today, in response to perceived instability in Europe I'd assume. Miner are also doing fine.

Sold GLDX today ... for a 6% gain ... which is in about 2.5 weeks!

Dear Reders,

Gold appears to be making "break-out" moves from the range within which it is "stuck" for last few days/weeks.

It made it to around 1615.  It it moves past 1640, then that perhaps will be a significant intermediate-term move upwards.  OTOH if it faild to break-out then it will be interesting to watch if the lower range (about 1560) holds or if gold breaks-down and reaches a further lower level ...

Dear Readers,

As I write this Gold is once again hitting against 1615.

Let us see if it breaks-out and moves to 1640 and maybe even passes it!

Dear Readers,

Miners made some gains today ... PSAU moved up ... I sold off at 5% gain in about 2 weeks.  ;-)

One of the certainties came into play ... that of market fluctuation.

Dear Readers,

Previous Metals and Miners are taking some beating in before session today.  :-)  As indicated, I bought/sold in earlier weeks.

Now once again I am watching with intent to buy!  Markets rise and fall, and I try to perform cycles of Buy/Sell and Short/Cover in tandem to make money!

Dear Readers,

Sold off some of the PSAU at 4% profit in 6 days that I had bought on April 3. I've retained some to be sold later.

GLCU's reward checking gives 4% at (almost) no risk in 365 days.  But one can get a little better reward if one is willing to take-up risk (among other things).
