what happened to Pearl Brown? I enjoyed her posts every day. I have not seen any for a while.

Ok.  It's been hours since I read dave's post.  Who took Pearl??  She's one of our "senior" members and I don't mean her age.  I think she needs to get permission from Ken to just take off like this and not let us know when to expect her back.  Seriously, I do hope she and her family are not having serious medical problems.  Maybe she is just busy doing taxes which I will be doing this week hopefully.    I, too, respect and enjoy her posts so I hope she will return soon.

Gripes!  They must have found that new group and are posting under different names!  51hh and me1004 always participated so much.  They must be having a party and the rest of us weren't invited.  Well maybe I will spend more time over there and see if I can drive them back home again!   I wonder how many others are gone that we haven't figured out yet.  I am so involved in my taxes I haven't had time to pay close attention.  SB, you know the group best of all since you are the "senior of all seniors" here.  Anyone else gone missing??

I'm sure there are others that I can't recall. Sometimes going through the blog archives I can spot someone that hasn't been posting lately. BTW, I'm positive that I'm not the "senior" DA member.

Well if Pearl doesn't return soon, I think we will have to just crown you SB.  :)  Too bad it doesn't go by real "age" or I would get the crown from both of you! :)  Have a good day.

So nice to be appreciated -- as I appreciate all you regulars, and even the irregulars, too. I have been posting, just infrequently as I haven't come across a lot of things worth starting, and I haven't had a lot of comments to make about others' posts. (I note, I did make a post just a couple days ago in response to another one, but for some reason, it never appeared, and I didn't have time to write it again.) But I also have been reading the threads as regularly as ever and appreciate all the input from everyone.

I consider this forum important -- I find things here that don't make it into stories on the main board.

me1004 lives! :) Inevitably, I suppose I will be more active when I'm looking for a good CD rate and maybe finding some that are not already mentioned here. Fortunately I have a respite from that deep research at the moment.

Please come home Pearl Brown; the 14 kids, 4 dogs, turtles and
hamster all miss you. :)

Seriously PB, your thoughtful commentary and timely posts are
greatly missed.  Hope all is well and only your computer is ill.

I am honored, touched and moved by the very kind words and the funny posts.  Thank you one and all.

ME1004 said it well – it is nice to be appreciated by regulars and occasional posters, and it’s nice to be missed.      I too appreciate everyone who participates in this important forum.  Thanks to each and everyone of you for helping me to learn something new in it every day.

On the other hand, if I am going to reach some goals I have set for myself for this year, I will have to keep my time here under control, so there will be some trial and error involved as I try to keep things in balance.    Even if I don’t post, I will continue to keep up with the blog and threads.

Meantime, there are some things I wish to clarify:
(1) No, I am not the most senior member of DA, either in longevity or age.   Ken is the most senior member and as for the other, I still need two hands to count how many years are left before retirement age.

For the record, when I’ve had enough sleep, my hair looks just right, and the store is dimly lit, the young man who bags my groceries at Kroger calls me “Miss”.  Frankly, I think it’s that he needs new glasses or – as is more likely - his Mom did a fine job raising him to be respectful to his elders.  On the other hand, who am I to say he’s wrong?  It’s all a matter of how young you feel, and on my worst day, I feel 21, so who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?     ;)

(2)  Cumulus, thanks for tugging at my heartstrings so sweetly by saying that the 14 kids, 4 dogs, turtles and hamster all miss me.  But you're not fooling me one bit - the truth is none of you know how to do laundry and everyone's out of clean underwear.    =D

Thanks again to all of you for starting my year on such a lovely note and best wishes to everyone for a peaceful and prosperous 2015 - may we all soon have high rates for our hard-earned savings.  Well, at least we can hope.

Pearl:  I just finished all my taxes thanks to SBs help and I wanted to take a minute to clarify something in your post.  When I referred to you and SB as being "seniors" it certainly had nothing to do with your physical ages.  It was due to a something posted to me from Ken about his "senior" members a while back and I took that to mean those of you who were his most dependable posters who had been on DA for quite some time.  It also was obvious by the number of the posts which ones were here posting a lot.

I also don't think any of our ages should make a difference as long as we are able to post and learn from each other.  I apologize if my use of the word "senior" was misunderstood by you.  It really was meant to be a compliment to those like you and SB who have helped make DA such a special group to be a part of.

Thanks for your note, I was just having a bit of fun with you re the age part.  I agree with you that regardless of our age, we are all here to learn from one another.

This thread got me thinking how all of us may get "disconnected" every now
and then for something --- except Ken.  In addition to daily high-quality
deposit account news, invaluable summaries, and superb economic overviews
he's a real IRONMAN!  Even when he moved half way across the country his
posting didn't skip a beat!

Are we lucky or what?  Forget the Superbowl, we've got the SuperBlog!

Genuflect, genuflect (thank you doesn't really cut it)

My goodness!  If you were a Pope, I think we could call him Saint Ken!  :)   Seriously, it's easy to see how special he is and how lucky we are to have this gift he has given us in DA.  It never hurts to let someone know how much they are appreciated when they work as hard as Ken does.  So I second and third your "genuflects"  any time Cumulus.
