CD Maturing - Always ASK Before Moving

This Arizona Bank did me a favor, so I am not going to mention names.

Point of this email is that my CD matured today. 24 months .... old rate was 1.5%. Got them to price match other national offers and they did 3% APY for 24 rather than to have the money leave. At least .5% better than their published rates.

NOT all credit unions or banks will get competitive to retain funds, but maybe 20% of them will ..... so ASK. May have to ask for the RETENTION department or a manager with override/discretion powers on rates. All they can do is say NO, but some will say YES.

It was no small amount of change that they held on to.
Good Job !
