In a decidedly unfunny day, herewith a bit of humor.
I suspect many of us here at DA (given our obsession with CD ladders) might be considered investing tortoises. Those who invested solely in the stock market were hares (especially over the past decade or so).
Trivia: the average tortoise has a life expectancy many times that of a hare (two to five years). The Galapagos tortoise: 150 - 200 years. Even a garden-variety tortoise will usually outlive its owner/guardian.
Balanced portfolios, my friends, with a tilt to CD ladders for fixed income. Were we smart tortoises?
Meanwhile, we here in Contra Costa County (CA) are on lock-down until at least April 7, along with the denizens of adjacent Bay Area counties. We stocked up on Tito's vodka before the liquor store shut down. If we are under house-arrest, I would prefer to do it with a cocktail or two.
Stay safe.
Regards,
Bozo
