Since rates are so low I thought I would mention this account. You can have one account per SS# and this includes minors so this makes one of the best children's savings accounts out there. the rate above $1,000 is .25% They even send a newsletter with games and puzzles to teach the kids. I know many will balk at the $1,000 limit but even if you had $8,000 in each account you would still get 1% overall.

I have 3 accounts and they are very easy to maintain no complaints although I only opened them for a kids savings account in the first place due to the good interest rate.
