Overwhelmed Banks

It seems every day we get comments, all of which are appreciated, here posted at Deposit Accounts sharing the huge amount of negative experiences people are having trying to open up new accounts at the high-paying-savings-account banks, or even just trying to get someone on the phone. (As one random example, today no one can get a CFG Bank rep on the phone. Their message says all reps are busy, and they request you leave a message for a callback. The problem is, their voicemail box is full.)

It is obvious that a lot of these high-paying-interest banks are being overwhelmed due to the rapid rise in rates and thus the gigantic amount of new account openings and calls.

This comment is just to express that those of us who are lucky to already have our accounts all set up sympathize, and hope that the overwhelming situation subsides soon.

It's a good thing if more customers become rate-sensitive when shopping for bank accounts. Losing deposits will pressure lower-paying banks to raise their rates

Lucky? Poor (“crisis”, is it really?) planning by management to the despair of their frontline associates and to dismay of their potential customers. Hopefully their Board of Directors “call in” for/on those busy lines, etc…walk the talk! Are those potential customers escalating to BoD level or merely venting? Wait to this Monday
