I’m here to tell a story about working with Chase Bank. I applied for the club card back in April as a referral from my husband for the 120k sign on points and he’d get a referral bonus in points.
First issue: card gets stolen- takes Chase TWO WEEKS to replace it. Apparently they couldn’t communicate they needed to confirm my address even though they had mailed me the card two weeks prior. Cool. Then they hit me with the annual fee while I was patiently waiting their replacement. Thank god I wasn’t traveling internationally.
Second issue: chase put MY HUSBANDS United account on my card. Our accounts are not linked, we both pay the $595 annual fee. So now when I travel I can’t access the club, which I’m paying for, I don’t get upgraded, or early boarding (this is a problem when you travel for business and you can’t fit your bag overhead), AND the icing on the cake is all of my points are now being routed to my husbands account.
Chase is pointing fingers at United and visa versa. No one can figure out how to fix it. I’ve wasted 5+ hours of my life over the last TWO MONTHS trying to get this resolved. It’s a mystery to me and honestly the worst customer experience I’ve ever encountered. This would never happen with Amex. Ever.
On top of all of this, the issue is still not resolved, I’m not accessing any of the benefits, still traveling, and no one at chase has the decency to follow up. It’s a total mess. And when I cal United
Chase ALSO had the audacity to not even offer any sort of compensation like returning my annual fee, giving me more points or anything. It’s honestly horrific. Do I cancel the card and just open a new one? Not sure if they’ll even honor paying me back the $595 for this mess because nobody at Chase seems to know what they are doing. Then I call United and they can’t do anything because they don’t have access to chase… OMG!
Literally makes my blood boil. Do not get this card. Do not work with chase.
