As I walked past the refrigerated dairy display in my local Aldi this afternoon I noted the price for a dozen eggs was $3.99. I just shook my head, mumbled some choice words to myself and picked up a 32 oz container of liquid egg whites (the equivalent of 20 eggs) for $3.89. How bad can they be? I was in the Army in the early 70's and had plenty of powdered eggs and I'm still kickin'!

Amen. What did the egg white companies do with the egg yolks?

I noticed that our local gas station that sold eggs for $1.50/ dozen just increased the price to $3.50 per dozen.

So Cal wally world was $5.50 for one dozen large regular stock. Wally is going overboard in this area with their price gouging on so many items.

Without some idea of what average incomes are in China, how can we make comparisons with our situation in the U.S.? Also, are egg prices subject to governmental subsidies and/or price controls (we are talking about a communist controlled government)?

Was in Aldi today. Standard were $4.59 a dozen. The cage free were less at $4.19.

I use the Alsi equivalent of Egg Betters that I paid $2.79 for and is equal to 18 eggs.

Trader Joes (sister company of Aldi) had eggs as low as $2.49…so much for (decentralized) supply chain management.  Chase eggs not rates

No Trader Joe's near me. One store near me has eggs $8.99
