[Time-Out...] A Great Credit Union/Bank Road Trip?

You know how there are Disney fans that will visit every Disney park in the world? Or divers who will visit all the famous dive spots of the world?

I'm sure a lot of us here at DA are members of many, many different CUs or banks.

That got me thinking...

As someone who has travelled out of state in the past in order to open up some accounts....

Wouldn't it be neat to make a great "CU/Bank Roat Trip" and visit ALL the states where you have an account at a Credit Union or Bank?

Looking at my own "states", I see that, over the years my "map" of the various states has indeed changed. But it would still take me through a heck of a lot of them!

To visit each state where you have an account at a CU/Bank based there, and maybe visit a branch just to drop in and say hi. I think for a lot of DA users, that would be quite the trip!

(Now all we need is for Ken to underwrite the whole thing, heh heh!)

Well sure. Gréât fun. I was in Fort Lauderdale walking and stopped in at a capitol one that had peet’s coffee inside. They had couches, tables, bathrooms, rooms where you could have meetings, etc. Friendly greeters who got me a 2nd cup of coffee complimentary

Why did you go to the time and expense of traveling out of state to open an account? Is it because you had to go in person? Where you out side the banks region but they allowed you to open an account if you went to a branch? How did verifications get handled since you would have a out of state ID?

Well in one case I live at the border between two states, and I just crossed the bridge. Years later that bank opened branches in my state. Once, since my son has been, and grandson is, in the military, I got permission.
