Ketchup Inflation

Have you seen the price of Heinz ketchup recently? It's insane!

Kraft Heinz says during the fourth quarter, their prices in North America were 14.2% higher than a year ago.

Now the bad news. The company said it anticipates inflation in the “high single-digit” percentage range for 2023, which implies an increase from the U.S. inflation rate of 6.4% seen in January.

So it's good news for CD rates. I tried the $1 bottle of private label Target ketchup. It's fine.

At least ketchup has a low sticker price and will not blow too much of a hole in our wallets.
Far more serious are car insurance premiums, with a 12 month increase of over 14%. In some areas the annual cost of car insurance is as much as (or even more than) the annual cost of gasoline.

In the south it’s homeowners insurance also. Up 30 to 50 percent a year premium. Governor approving rate hikes

Seattle bank ‘s fdic address has been corrected. I just received a letter from the president of seattle bank that seattle bank has corrected their physical address on the fdic bank locator finder due to my fdic complaint. Note: My complaint was an inquiry to both the fdic and seattle bank as to what the correct address of a legitimate seattle bank was. As a ‘have been frauded’ person, I first check ncua or fdic, then bank or credit union disclosures, then I proceed. Often banks will not give you disclosures until you buy the cd. Nonsensical in my opinion.

Well, eggs at ALDIs were down to $3.11 tonight from $4.96 2-3 weeks back. So there’s that.

Also family dollar eggs at 3.53. I asked them they said they priced eggs at 9 dollars and no one was buying so reduced to regular price. Is there really a shortage?
