Wire Transfers Over $10,000 Must Be Reported By Banks

I imagine most people don't know that federal law requires wire transfers over $10,000 must be reported to FinCEN, just the same as if one was doing cash transactions over $10,000 in person. Wire transfers exceeding $10,000 are treated similarly to cash transactions as far as FinCEN is concerned, even though cash isn't involved.

ACH transactions over $10,000 are not required to be reported to FinCEN, unless of course the financial institution suspects something is fishy.
